I agree we don't need an asteroid strike, we were headed for one but it seems that the new energies have moved that away for now. It would only be the end of us though if it was huge, we have been struck so many times before by asteroids and comets and we humans survived. Most of the extinction level event information is really dramatic especially the nuclear winter scenarios after an asteroid strike. Humans are very adaptable and so is the earth, nothing natural has killed us off yet. Maybe I should say caused our extinction yet since any size asteroid or comet certainly does kill off a large number of us. The coming changes with no asteroid required will do the same. Every species has it over population control and regular earth changes are it for humans, plus it renews our soils etc etc.
