I don't know how to answer about how to know if something is truthful because I just feel things inside me and there were lots of lessons over the years and times when spirit will share something that is a strong possibility but not an absolute.  I know that I chose Bestali for a guide before I came because I trust him.  He is a best friend and I know without a doubt he wants my ascension and for me to be happy.  Truth can a hard thing to wrap your head around because of perception, and because we grow.  There are things Bestali talked about early on that I realized years later what he really meant and I was just not able to understand what he was talking about at the time.  You have to be willing to set your ego aside when you realize that there was a teaching you only understood on a superficial level in the past when the time comes that a deeper understanding starts to integrate inside you.  The biggest problem people have with that is they learn some stuff and then become teachers and they are out there teaching something at the time they realize that what they are teaching is not accurate because they didn't have the integrated understanding.  Then they are not willing to say hey I got this wrong because not enough time had passed for me to integrate it to the level where the soul/ spirit inside me could show me the truth of it.  Worse yet some will just deny the new understanding as if it doesn't exist and stick with the limited understanding they have been teaching!
